The expression of Stoml2GD16706 under the control of Scer\GAL4Tub.PU induces wing posture defects and thorax indentations in a significant proportion of individuals, a significant decrease in flight performance and a severe decrease in the progeny of males, as compared to controls. Expression under the control of Scer\GAL4fln.IFM also leads to wing posture defects in a significant proportion of individuals, which become more frequent in combination with heterozygosity for either Df(2R)BSC695 or Df(2R)BSC770, as compared to controls.

The expression of Stoml2GD16706 under the control of Scer\GAL4ple.PU leads to a significant decrease in climbing index of adults and to a significant decrease in the number of dopaminergic PPL1 neurons in the adult brain, as compared to controls; the climbing defects are not enhanced by heterozygosity for either Df(2R)BSC695 or Df(2R)BSC770.

Adults expressing CG2970GD16706 under the control of Scer\GAL4elav.PLu (in the presence of Dcr-2Scer\UAS.cDa to increase the efficiency of RNAi) do not show a significant defect in avoidance of noxious temperature (46[o]C) compared to control flies.

The wing posture defects, the thorax indentations, but not the decreased flight performance or the decreased progeny, induced by the expression of either parkKK107919 or Stoml2GD16706 under the control of Scer\GAL4Tub.PU become exacerbated upon their co-expression.

Individuals both mutant for park25 and expressing Stoml2GD16706 under the control of Scer\GAL4ple.PU show a more severe decrease in the number of PPL1 neurons in the adult brain than either individual mutant condition.

The wing posture defects induced by the expression of Stoml2GD16706 under the control of Scer\GAL4fln.IFM alone, or in combination with heterozygosity for either Df(2R)BSC695 or Df(2R)BSC770, are fully suppressed by the co-expression of parkUAS.cGa.

The decreased adult climbing capacity observed upon the expression of Stoml2GD16706 under the control of Scer\GAL4ple.PU alone, or in combination with heterozygosity for either Df(2R)BSC695 or Df(2R)BSC770, is fully suppressed by the co-expression of parkUAS.cGa.
