The expression of Dlg5GD11943 under the control of Scer\GAL4Mef2.PR leads to complete indirect flight muscle atrophy during pupal development (after 32h APF), with fewer muscle fibers; fibers fail to compact at 32h APF. Expression from pupal stages onward (by the additional control of Gal80[ts[) leads to similar defects.

Flies expressing Dlg5GD11943 under the control of Scer\GAL4Tub.PU die at the third instar larval stage with approximately 2% of animals surviving into the pupal stage.

Conditional expression of Dlg5GD11943 in somatic cells under the control of Scer\GAL4Tub.PU (GAL80ts has been used to limit expression to the adult stage) results in stalk cell overgrowth. Ovarioles containing degenerating follicles with only nurse cell nuclei and surrounding follicle cells remaining are also observed.

Expression of CG6509GD11943 under the control of Scer\GAL4c306 results in incomplete border cell migration in 26% of stage 10 egg chambers. 44% of stage 9 border cell clusters no longer have the normal compact shape but are dissociated or elongated instead.

Adults expressing Dlg5GD11943 under the control of the cardioblast-specific Scer\GAL4tin.CΔ4 driver show significantly reduced survival on day 6 after a shift to 29[o]C compared to control flies.

Adults expressing Dlg5GD11943 under the control of Scer\GAL4elav.PLu (in the presence of Dcr-2Scer\UAS.cDa to increase the efficiency of RNAi) do not show a significant defect in avoidance of noxious temperature (46[o]C) compared to control flies.

Expression under the control of Scer\GAL4Mef2.PR results in late pupal lethality.

Expression under the control of Scer\GAL4pnr-MD237 results in extra bristles on the notum in 20-30% of the Scer\GAL4pnr-MD237 expression domain.

Expression under the control of Scer\GAL4pnr-MD237 results in the absence of 20-30% of the Scer\GAL4pnr-MD237-expressing area of the notum.
