Expression of anchorGD3613 under the control of Scer\GAL4hs.PU, induced by daily heat shock from third instar stage, or under the control of Scer\GAL4A9 or Scer\GAL4Bx-MS1096, results in thicker wing veins and an increased number of wing veins compared with controls. Scer\GAL4Bx-MS1096-driven expression additionally causes wing discs to be larger in the larva. Scer\GAL4A9-driven expression additionally causes significant increases in the size and cell proliferation rate of the wing blade region of the larval wing disc, and adult wing size, compared to controls. This expression also increases the width of the dorsal-ventral boundary stripe in the wing disc.

Expression of anchorGD3613 under the control of Scer\GAL4dpp.blk1 results in thicker wing veins and an increased number of wing veins in the anterior-posterior boundary compared with controls; these flies also have an increased distance between L3 and L4 wing veins than controls.

Expression of anchorGD3613 under the control of Scer\GAL4en-e16E results in thicker wing veins and an increased number of wing veins in the adult wing posterior compartment compared with controls; the larval posterior wing disc has increased cell division (PH3 staining).

Expression of anchorGD3613 under the control of Scer\GAL4nub.PU, in combination with a Gal80[ts] transgene to restrict expression to a particular developmental period, can cause defects in the adult wings; expression for 48 hours during the larval stage results in wing overgrowth with no wing vein phenotype; expression for 24 hours during the pupal stage results in extra wing veins with no wing size phenotype.

Adults expressing CG7510GD3613 under the control of Scer\GAL4elav.PLu (in the presence of Dcr-2Scer\UAS.cDa to increase the efficiency of RNAi) do not show a significant defect in avoidance of noxious temperature (46[o]C) compared to control flies.

Expression under the control of Scer\GAL4Mef2.PR results in late larval lethality.

Expression under the control of Scer\GAL4Mef2.PR results in split larval body wall muscles.

Expression under the control of Scer\GAL4Mef2.PR results in wild-type sarcomeres in the larval body wall muscles.

The thickened wing vein phenotype of adults expressing anchorGD3613 under the control of Scer\GAL4A9 is partially suppressed by addition of MedJF02218, MadTRiP.cUa, Mad12/+, tkv7/+, tkv427/+, sax4/+, saxTRiP.cUa or gbbHMS01243, but not NMcd8 or EgfrGD1654.

The increased wing size phenotype of adults expressing anchorGD3613 under the control of Scer\GAL4A9 is suppressed by addition of putTRiP.cUa, gbbHMS01243, Mad12/+ or dppTRiP.cUa, but not sax4/+, tkv7/+ or tkv427/+. In the cases of Mad12/+ and dppTRiP.cUa, size is reduced to the extent that it is decreased compared to flies with Scer\GAL4A9 driver alone.

The decreased wing size phenotype of adults expressing MedJF02218 or MadTRiP.cUa under the control of Scer\GAL4A9 is suppressed by addition of anchorGD3613.

Additional expression of anchorGD3613 in flies expressing dppTRiP.cUa under the control of Scer\GAL4A9 does not rescue the reduction in wing vein tissue, but does slightly rescue wing size.
