Expression of Skp2GD5142 under the control of either Scer\GAL4en-e16E or Scer\GAL4nub-AC-62 leads to a wing hair spacing phenotype. The space between wing hairs becomes larger, with irregular orientation and frequent clustering of wing hairs. Expression of Skp2GD5142 under the control of Scer\GAL4ey.PH results in a rough eye phenotype. Expression of Skp2GD5142 (co-expressed with Dcr-2Scer\UAS.cDa) under the control of Scer\GAL4en-e16E at 29[o]C results in reduced wing disc cell density compared to controls. Wing disc clones expressing Skp2GD5142 under the control of Scer\GAL4Act5C.PP contain fewer cells than wild type, containing on average 26 cells compared to 143 in the controls. Flies expressing Skp2GD5142 under the control of Scer\GAL4vg.PU exhibit wing margin nicking. Expression of Skp2GD5142 in the notum under the control of Scer\GAL4pnr-MD237 results in dorsal closure defects and abnormal bristle patterning.
Expression of Skp2GD5142 under the control of Scer\GAL4ptc-559.1 results in a reduction in salivary gland size and a reduction in ploidy of the nuclei of the salivary gland cells in wandering third instar larvae. Expression of Skp2GD5142 under the control of Scer\GAL4en-e16E results in increased spacing of the wing hairs near the anterior/posterior compartment boundary.
Adults expressing Skp2GD5142 under the control of Scer\GAL4elav.PLu (in the presence of Dcr-2Scer\UAS.cDa to increase the efficiency of RNAi) do not show a significant defect in avoidance of noxious temperature (46[o]C) compared to control flies.
Expression under the control of Scer\GAL4pnr-MD237 results in loss of bristles on the notum in 10-20% of the Scer\GAL4pnr-MD237 expression domain. Expression under the control of Scer\GAL4pnr-MD237 results in bristle morphology defects on the notum in 40-50% of the Scer\GAL4pnr-MD237 expression domain. Expression under the control of Scer\GAL4pnr-MD237 results in the absence of 40-50% of the Scer\GAL4pnr-MD237-expressing area of the notum.
