Expression of Mer^GD1484 under the control of Scer\GAL4^C587 has no apparent germarium phenotype.

Expression of Mer^GD1484 under the control of Scer\GAL4^ap.PU in cells of the wing disc proper has no significant effect on the morphology or proliferation of the overlying peripodial membrane cells in third instar larvae. The wings of the adult flies however curl downwards due to the overgrowth of the dorsal surface.

Expression of Mer^GD1484 (co-expressed with Dcr-2^Scer\UAS.cDa) under the control of Scer\GAL4^repo.PU substantially increases glial cell numbers in the third instar larval eye disc and brain.
