Expressing Rab5GD10492 under the control of Scer\GAL4C587 leads to ectopic transiently amplifying spermatogonia and some dissociated somatic cells in L3 male gonads.

Animals expressing Rab5GD10492 under the control of Scer\GAL4grh.D4 are lethal, show defects in larval dorsal trunk elongation (resulting in internalization of posterior spiracles into the body cavity) and the larvae are smaller than age-matched controls.

Expression of Rab5GD10492 under the control of Scer\GAL4tj-NP1624 results in dramatic increase in stalk cell number and defects in germaria and early egg chambers.

Expression of Rab5GD10492 under the control of Scer\GAL4hh.PU (in combination with a Gal80[ts] transgene to restrict expression to larval stages) results in the posterior compartment of the wing disc displaying a similar rate of growth as compared to controls, but these continue to grow indefinitely, as long as the larva is alive, and exhibit an increase in the number of apoptotic cells, in contrast to controls. These larvae exhibit a significant developmental delay.

Expression of Rab5GD10492 under the control of Scer\GAL4salm.EPv (in combination with a Gal80[ts] transgene to restrict expression to the third instar larval stage) in the wing pouch results in defects in endocytosis, increased size of the mutant domain as compared to controls, the mutant domain continues to grow as long as the larvae are alive, and exhibits an increase in the number of apoptotic cells and an increase in cell proliferation, as compared to controls.

Clones expressing Rab5GD10492 under the control of Scer\GAL4hh.PU in the posterior compartment of the wing disc are able to grow normally up to 48h after clone initiation, but the cells then enter apoptosis (largely at the clone borders) and a majority of clones disappear or are reduced to a very small size.

~70% of males expressing Rab5GD10492 under the control of Scer\GAL4Abd-B-LDN show incomplete genitalia rotation.

Adults expressing Rab5GD10492 under the control of Scer\GAL4elav.PLu (in the presence of Dcr-2Scer\UAS.cDa to increase the efficiency of RNAi) do not show a significant defect in avoidance of noxious temperature (46[o]C) compared to control flies.

Expression of Rab5GD10492 under the control of Scer\GAL4elav.PLu (in the presence of Dcr-2Scer\UAS.cDa to increase the efficiency of RNAi) results in partial lethality or complete lethality, depending on the particular P{GD10492} insertion line used.

The co-expression of Rab5GD10492 and pnutGD1512 from the second instar larval stage under the combined control of Scer\GAL4ap-md544 and Gal80[ts] does not leads to the formation of tumors in the third instar larval wing disc.

The expression of Rab5GD10492 under the control of Scer\GAL4Toll-6-D42 partially suppresses the decreased excitatory junction potential amplitude under high stimulation conditions observed at the third instar larval neuromuscular junction of Vps35MH20 heterozygotes.

Expression of Rab5GD10492 in Rho172F or Rho172O clones suppresses the adherens junction defect seen between two Rho172F or Rho172O cells, although decreased apical tension is not affected.
