Expression of Rac2GD17536 under the control of Scer\GAL4Hml.Δ results in significantly reduced survival when infected with Leishmania amastigotes, as compared to wild type.

Expression of Rac2GD17536 under the control of Scer\GAL4Vm26Aa.F results in moderate dorsal appendage defects in 56% of cases and strong defects in 8% of cases, with the appendages being rough.

Expression of Rac2GD17536 under the control of Scer\GAL4CY2 results in moderate dorsal appendage defects in 36% of cases and strong defects in 11% of cases, with the appendages having a wide base.

Larvae expressing Rac2GD17536 under the control of Scer\GAL4Hml.PG show strongly reduced encapsulation (1%) of eggs when parasitised by the avirulent L. boulardi wasp strain G486. Plasmatocytes fully cover the egg, while lamellocytes partially cover it.

Expression of Rac2GD17536 under the control of Scer\GAL4pnr.PU results in loss of microchaetae and an absence of dorso-anterior macrochaetae in the central part of the notum.
