Detailed Description

Expression of Src64BGD12263 under the control of Scer\GAL4GMR.PF at 29[o]C results in male eyes that are 42% smaller than controls.

Adults expressing Src64BGD12263 under the control of Scer\GAL4elav.PLu (in the presence of Dcr-2Scer\UAS.cDa to increase the efficiency of RNAi) do not show a significant defect in avoidance of noxious temperature (46[o]C) compared to control flies.

The increased number of intestinal progenitor cells in mitosis characteristic for adult flies expressing RetScer\UAS.T:Zzzz\FLAG,T:Zzzz\His6 driven by Scer\GAL4esg-NP7397 (combined with tub-Gal80[ts] for temporal control) is not suppressed by co-expression of Src64BGD12263.

Loss of Src64B, through expression of Src64BGD12263, dramatically suppresses tumour cell invasion into the ventral nerve cord in Ras85DV12.Scer\UAS/l(2)gl4 mutants and enables the animals to survive to the pupal stage, whereas the tumour size remains largely unaffected.

Xenogenetic Interactions
Statement
Reference

Expression of Src64BGD12263 partially suppresses the eye phenotypes seen in males when Zzzz\E4orf4Scer\UAS.cPa is expressed under the control of Scer\GAL4GMR.PF at 29[o]C. Eye size is restored to 63% of controls.
