Expression of dallyGD5918 in epidermic cells under the control of Scer\GAL4hh-Gal4 results in a mild reduction in the terminal dendrite density and number in the adjacent class IV dendritic arborizing neurons within the intersegmental area of third instar larvae.

Expression of dallyGD5918 RNAi under the control of either Scer\GAL4pnr-MD237 or Scer\GAL4tub.PU does not significantly alter levels of pigmentation on the abdominal tergite 5 or 6 in adult females compared to controls.

Adults expressing dallyGD5918 under the control of Scer\GAL4elav.PLu (in the presence of Dcr-2Scer\UAS.cDa to increase the efficiency of RNAi) do not show a significant defect in avoidance of noxious temperature (46[o]C) compared to control flies.

Expression of dallyGD5918 under the control of Scer\GAL4bab1-Pgal4-2 results in the loss of the germline stem cells (GSCs), with 29% of ovarioles containing no GSCs in the niche at day 10 after eclosion.

Expression of dallyGD5918 in the posterior of the wing disc, under the control of Scer\GAL4en-e16E, results in a decrease in the posterior:anterior size ratio of the appendage-forming region of the wing disc from the wild-type ratio of 1.04 to 0.65. Adult wings in flies of this genotype are 19% smaller than controls and wing vein L4 is shifted posteriorly.

Expression of dallyGD5918 in the anterior of the wing disc, under the control of Scer\GAL4ci.PC, results in an increase of the posterior:anterior size ratio from 0.93 to 1.39. In adult wings, wing vein L4 is shifted anteriorly although overall wing size is not significantly affected.

Expression of either dallyGD5918 or SdcdsRNA.WIZ.Scer\UAS alone in epidermic cells under the control of Scer\GAL4hh-Gal4 results in only a mild reduction in the terminal dendrite density and number within the intersegmental area in the adjacent class IV dendritic arborizing neurons in third instar larvae, but the severity of the phenotype is much increased (the growth of high-order dendrites is almost completely abolished) if both dallyGD5918 and SdcdsRNA.WIZ.Scer\UAS are expressed simultaneously. Co-expression of dlpGD3592 does not enhance the dallyGD5918-induced dendritic phenotype neither can further worsen the phenotype in larvae expressing both dallyGD5918 and SdcdsRNA.WIZ.Scer\UAS.

Expression of dallyGD5918 driven by Scer\GAL4unspecified in escort stem cells and escort cells partially suppresses the supernumerary spectrosome-containing cell phenotype in stet1A3 mutant germaria.
