Expression of ftz-f1GD1450 under the control of Scer\GAL4Hml.Δ results in significantly reduced survival when infected with Leishmania amastigotes, as compared to wild type.

Expression of ftz-f1GD1450 under the control of Scer\GAL4phm.PO results in arrested development at the third instar larval stages, before pupariation. The larvae fail to pupariate and remain at the third instar stage for several weeks. Some larvae arrest development at the second to third instar larval transition. When these larvae are fed with exogenous 20E they are able to pupariate. The prothoracic gland cells show reduced levels of lipid droplets per cell.

Expression of ftz-f1GD1450 in the follicle cells under the control of Scer\GAL4T155 results in the death of many ovarioles, but those that survive show a reduction in the number of lipid droplets in the follicle cells.

Adults expressing ftz-f1GD1450 under the control of Scer\GAL4elav.PLu (in the presence of Dcr-2Scer\UAS.cDa to increase the efficiency of RNAi) do not show a significant defect in avoidance of noxious temperature (46[o]C) compared to control flies.

Expression under the control of Scer\GAL4Mef2.PR results in late pupal lethality.

Expression under the control of Scer\GAL4pnr-MD237 results in lethality before the pupal stage.
