The expression of mRpL15GD11582 under the control of Scer\GAL4Act5C.PU increases the complexity of the third instar larval neuromuscular junction: increased total branch length and increased bouton number; the amplitude of evoked excitatory junctional potentials is increased.

The expression of mRpL15GD11582 under the control of Scer\GAL4Ddc.PL or Scer\GAL4GMR51B08 leads to decreased total sleep time, with more but shorter sleep bouts.

Adults expressing mRpL15GD11582 under the control of Scer\GAL4elav.PLu (in the presence of Dcr-2Scer\UAS.cDa to increase the efficiency of RNAi) can show significantly reduced avoidance of noxious temperature (46[o]C) compared to control flies, depending on the particular P{GD11582} insertion line used.

Expression of mRpL15GD11582 under the control of Scer\GAL4elav.PLu (in the presence of Dcr-2Scer\UAS.cDa to increase the efficiency of RNAi) results in viable flies or partial lethality, depending on the particular P{GD11582} insertion line used.
