Expression of mad2GD16427 under the control of Scer\GAL4en-e16E to induce chromosome instability in the proliferative third instar larval wing disc tissue results in a marked increase in autophagy (visualized by autophagy markers Atg8 and LysoTracker) and oxidative stress (elevated levels of ROS), however the apoptotic activity (visualized using [*]Casp3) is not significantly increased.

Under 30[o]C temperature conditions, the expression of mad2GD16427 under the control of Scer\GAL4da.PU induces lethality before adulthood.

Under 30[o]C of temperature conditions, expression of mad2GD16427 driven by Scer\GAL4en.PU leads to a significant increase in aneuploidy in the posterior compartment of third instar larval wing discs, as compared to controls.

Expression of mad2GD16427 in the posterior compartment of the wing disc, under the control of either Scer\GAL4en.PU or Scer\GAL4hh.PU, induces chromosome instability but does not lead to an increase in cell death.

Adults expressing mad2GD16427 under the control of Scer\GAL4elav.PLu (in the presence of Dcr-2Scer\UAS.cDa to increase the efficiency of RNAi) do not show a significant defect in avoidance of noxious temperature (46[o]C) compared to control flies.

Posterior compartments of third instar wing discs expressing both PepckGD9451 and mad2GD16427 under the control of Scer\GAL4en-e16E exhibit a significant increase in cell death, as compared to controls.

Co-expression of mad2GD16427 with either Atg1GD7149 or Atg18aGD12342 under the control of Scer\GAL4en-e16E results in a dramatic increase in cell death (visualized by [*]Casp3 staining) in third instar larval wing discs.
