UASt regulatory sequences drive expression of an inverted repeat.
The adulthood-only expression of mei-41GD4258 under the control of Scer\GAL4esg-NP5130 (in combination with Gal80[ts], for the temporal control of expression) leads to a severe decrease in life-span, leads to a significant decrease in cell density in the adult midgut, leads to larger and rounder adult midgut progenitor cells (esg-positive intestinal stem cells and enteroblasts), and leads to the adult intestinal stem cells showing significant decreases in relative cell number and in the frequency of DNA replication, as compared to controls. Upon γ-radiation, the adult midgut progenitor cells show an increase in DNA damage, assessed by pS/TQ and γH2AvD immunofluorescence, as compared to irradiated controls.
Adults expressing mei-41GD4258 under the control of Scer\GAL4elav.PLu (in the presence of Dcr-2Scer\UAS.cDa to increase the efficiency of RNAi) do not show a significant defect in avoidance of noxious temperature (46[o]C) compared to control flies.
BacA\p35UAS.cHa, Scer\GAL4en.PU, mei-41GD4258 has hyperplasia | larval stage | conditional phenotype, suppressible by bskK53R.UAS, Scer\GAL4en.PU
mei-41GD4258, Scer\GAL4en.PU is an enhancer of hyperplasia | larval stage | conditional phenotype of BacA\p35UAS.cHa, Scer\GAL4en.PU
BacA\p35UAS.cHa, Scer\GAL4en.PU, mei-41GD4258 has wing disc posterior compartment | conditional phenotype, suppressible by bskK53R.UAS, Scer\GAL4en.PU
mei-41GD4258, Scer\GAL4en.PU is an enhancer of wing disc posterior compartment | conditional phenotype of BacA\p35UAS.cHa, Scer\GAL4en.PU
The co-expression of mei-41GD4258 enhances the ionizing irradiation-induced enlarged wing disc posterior compartment observed in individuals expressing BacA\p35UAS.cHa under the control of Scer\GAL4en.PU; this phenotype is suppressed by the additional co-expression of bskK53R.UAS.
