Females that express moodyGD709 in glial cells using Scer\GAL4repo are viable and behave as wild-type females with regard to mating.

Adults expressing moodyGD709 under the control of Scer\GAL4elav.PLu (in the presence of Dcr-2Scer\UAS.cDa to increase the efficiency of RNAi) do not show a significant defect in avoidance of noxious temperature (46[o]C) compared to control flies.

Df(1)JC70/Df(1)Exel6234 mutant females expressing Scer\GAL4repo>moodyGD709 show post-mating behaviour that is similar to that of wild-type females, i.e. receptivity is reduced and oviposition increased.

Females expressing Scer\GAL4repo>moodyGD709 mated with SP0 mutant males behave very much like virgins.
