Expression of morGD1257 is pupal lethal at 25[o]C when driven by Scer\GAL4Act5C.PI, Scer\GAL4nub.PK (leads to severe wing blistering at 18[o]C), Scer\GAL4en.PU (leads to blisters and ectopic venation at the posterior crossvein at 18[o]C) or Scer\GAL4ey.PH (with escapers showing small deformed eyes, at 18[o]C the flies display moderate rough eye phenotype). No overt adult phenotype is observed with the Scer\GAL4GMR.PF driver.

Flies expressing Scer\GAL4c564>morGD1257 show a significant decrease in survival following Enterobacter cloacae (E. cloacae) or Erwinia carotovora Ecc15 infections when compared with control flies.

Larval brains expressing morGD1257 under the control of Scer\GAL4wor.PA contain additional type II NB-like cells. Transplantation of this tissue into the abdomens of adult wild type hosts results in tumor formation.

Expression under the control of Scer\GAL41407 results in an increase in the number of neuroblasts in the larval brain compared to controls.

Expression under the control of Scer\GAL41407 results in longer neuroblast lineages (more daughter cells per neuroblast) in the larval brain compared to controls.

Adults expressing morGD1257 under the control of the cardioblast-specific Scer\GAL4tin.CΔ4 driver show significantly reduced survival on day 6 after a shift to 29[o]C compared to control flies.

Adults expressing morGD1257 under the control of Scer\GAL4elav.PLu (in the presence of Dcr-2Scer\UAS.cDa to increase the efficiency of RNAi) do not show a significant defect in avoidance of noxious temperature (46[o]C) compared to control flies.

Expression under the control of Scer\GAL4Mef2.PR results in early pupal lethality.

Expression of morGD1257 in the wing under the control of Scer\GAL4salm-459.2 at both 17[o]C and 25[o]C results in the loss of wing veins and wing margin, a reduction in wing size, and ectopic wing hair and sensory organs. The defects are more severe at 25[o]C.

Expression of morGD1257 under the control of Scer\GAL4Bx-MS1096 results in curly and crinkled wings.

Expression of morGD1257 under the control of Scer\GAL4ey.PH and Scer\GAL4GMR.PF results in eyes that are small and rough in appearance.
