Females expressing pebGD1507 under the control of Scer\GAL4GMR44E10 or Scer\GAL4GMR47A04 lay significantly fewer eggs, show significantly longer ovulation time despite of no changes in the time spent by eggs in the oviduct and uterus, and show a significant decrease in octopamine- or ionomycin-induced follicle rupture (ex vivo treated egg chambers), as compared to controls; no other obvious oogenesis defects are observed, as plenty of stage-14 egg chambers are produced.

Stage 14 egg chambers from females expressing pebGD1507 under the control of Scer\GAL4GMR47A04 show an intact or broken posterior basement membrane, instead of the mostly open posterior basement membrane observed in controls.

Expression of pebGD1507 driven by Scer\GAL4GMR.PU leads to significant mistargeting and overshooting of R1-R6 axons towards the medulla layers, compared to controls.

Adults expressing pebGD1507 under the control of Scer\GAL4elav.PLu (in the presence of Dcr-2Scer\UAS.cDa to increase the efficiency of RNAi) do not show a significant defect in avoidance of noxious temperature (46[o]C) compared to control flies.

Co-expression of jbugScer\UAS.L.T:Ivir\HA1 significantly partially suppresses axon targeting defects of R1-R6 photoreceptors in Scer\GAL4GMR.PU>pebGD1507 flies.
