Description
What does this section display?
This section contains items that were added to this record for each release. It currently only tracks new links between this FlyBase report and other FlyBase data classes (e.g. genes, references, stocks) or controlled vocabulary terms (e.g. GO, anatomy terms).
What does this section not display?
This section does not currently display links that were removed or gene model changes.

smt3[GD10521]-knockdown clones exhibit a range of defects including reduced wings and malformed legs. Haltere transformations range from the appearance of ectopic bristles to the significant outgrowth of wing tissue. Expression of smt3[GD10521] in the haltere under the control of Scer\GAL4[A9] results in multiple defects including ectopic bristle formation and increased size. Expression of smt3[GD10521] under the control of Scer\GAL4[arm.PS] results in embryos with missing or fused denticle belts.
Expression of smt3[GD10521] using Scer\GAL4[Bx-MS1096] results in a marked reduction of mitotic cells throughout the wing pouch of the wing disc and in the dorsal compartment in particular. Adult wings are greatly reduced in size and are misshapen.
