The total excitatory junctional current (EJC) area (nA*ms) at the neuromuscular junction is increased in larvae expressing tomosynGD8641 under the control of Scer\GAL4elav.PU compared to wild type. This is primarily due to an increase in the EJC decay time constant in the mutant larvae. EJC rise time is normal. The frequency of spontaneous mEJC events is normal in the mutant larvae, but there is an increase in mEJC decay time. mEJC area, rise times and amplitude are normal. Paired-pulse depression is also increased compared to wild type.

Bouton number and neuromuscular junction size are normal in larvae expressing tomosynGD8641 under the control of Scer\GAL4elav.PU.

Animals expressing tomosynGD8641 under the control of Scer\GAL4elav.PU show normal early memory in an aversive olfactory conditioning assay, however, the anesthesia-sensitive memory (ASM) component of late memory is reduced by approximately 50%.

Animals expressing tomosynGD8641 under the control of Scer\GAL4ey-OK107 show defects in the anesthesia-sensitive memory (ASM) component of late memory in an aversive olfactory conditioning assay.

Animals expressing tomosynGD8641 under the control of Scer\GAL4Sxl-NP2426, Scer\GAL4GH146 or Scer\GAL4Orco.2.642.T:Hsim\VP22 do not show defects in the anesthesia-sensitive memory (ASM) component of late memory in an aversive olfactory conditioning assay.

Expression under the control of Scer\GAL41407 results in loss of neuroblasts in the larval brain without any change in size of the remaining neuroblasts.

Expression under the control of Scer\GAL41407 results in shorter neuroblast lineages (less daughter cells per neuroblast) in the larval brain compared to controls.

Adults expressing TomosynGD8641 under the control of Scer\GAL4elav.PLu (in the presence of Dcr-2Scer\UAS.cDa to increase the efficiency of RNAi) do not show a significant defect in avoidance of noxious temperature (46[o]C) compared to control flies.

Expression under the control of Scer\GAL4pnr-MD237 may result in semi-lethality, depending on the insertion line used.

Expression under the control of Scer\GAL4pnr-MD237 results in the absence of 20-30% or 40-50% of the Scer\GAL4pnr-MD237-expressing area of the notum, depending on the insertion line used.
