Expression of Su(var)205dsRNA.Sym.Scer\UAS under the control of Scer\GAL4Act.PU results mainly in pupal lethality. Adult escapers are mostly female.

Expression of Su(var)205dsRNA.Sym.Scer\UAS under the control of Scer\GAL4en-e16E results in increased cell death in wing discs and missing parts of the posterior wing compartments.

Expression of Su(var)205dsRNA.Sym.Scer\UAS under the control of Scer\GAL4ey.PH results in increased cell death in eye discs and reduced adult eyes.

Neuroblasts that express Su(var)205dsRNA.Sym.Scer\UAS under the control of Scer\GAL4Act.PU show defective chromosomes; a phenotype that occurs approximately twice as much as males as in females.

Expression of P{Sym-UAS-Su(var)205} (which carries both Su(var)205Sym.Scer\UAS and Su(var)205a.Sym.Scer\UAS) under the control of Scer\GAL4Act results mainly in pupal lethality. Adult escapers are mostly female.
