Overexpression of HDAC6Scer\UAS.T:SV5\V5 under the control of Scer\GAL4Act.PU results in synaptic T-bars with larger 'top sizes' compared to controls, enabling them to contact more synaptic vesicles. The excitatory junctional current amplitude is significantly increased upon HDAC6Scer\UAS.T:SV5\V5 overexpression (under the control of Scer\GAL4nSyb.PU. Given that the mean miniature EJC amplitude is not significantly affected, the quantal content upon overexpression of HDAC6Scer\UAS.T:SV5\V5 is increased.
