What does this section display?
This section contains items that were added to this record for each release. It currently only tracks new links between this FlyBase report and other FlyBase data classes (e.g. genes, references, stocks) or controlled vocabulary terms (e.g. GO, anatomy terms).
What does this section not display?
This section does not currently display links that were removed or gene model changes.

Imprecise excision of the P{lacW}tow4938 insertion, resulting in a 7.4kb deletion that removes the entire tow open reading frame (the first noncoding exon and part of the first intron remain) and part of the neighbouring CG10077 gene (sequences encoding 160 amino acids of the 3' end of CG10077-RA are removed).

Statement
Reference
The wing phenotypes caused by expression of tow[A1.Scer\UAS] under the control of Scer\GAL4[arm.PS] are relieved in a tow[754] homozygous background. Homozygotes show a weak increase in the intervein area between wing veins 3 and 4 compared to wild type. The number of campaniform sensilla along wing vein 3 is normal.
Mutant flies show no eye polarity defects.

ptc[16]/+ ; tow[754]/tow[754] flies show a slight increase in the mean number of The number of campaniform sensilla (CS) along wing vein 3 compared to wild type, and the percentage of wings with aberrant CS numbers is also increased. The intervein area between veins 3 and 4 is also increased.
The planar polarity defects seen in the eyes of animals expressing fzScer\UAS.cAa under the control of Scer\GAL4hs.2sev are almost completely suppressed by tow754/+ (79.7% of ommatidia are correctly rotated). The multiple wing hair phenotype seen in dsh1/Y flies is suppressed by tow754/+, but the defects in polarity of the hairs is not affected. The number of multiple wing hairs seen in stanVC31/+ flies is enhanced if they are also carrying tow754/+. tow754/+ increases the number of small and multiple wing hairs seen in a shaVB13/shaVB13 background.
