adult cuticle & abdomen | somatic clone, with Scer\GAL4αTub84B.PC
Expression of ptcΔloop2.Scer\UAS under the control of Scer\GAL4GMR16A06 does not result in a pruning defect in the mushroom body gamma neurons.
31% of embryos expressing ptcΔloop2.Scer\UAS under the control of Scer\GAL4nos.PG have five or more "lost" germ cells that have failed to coalesce with the somatic gonadal precursor cells (less than 5% of wild-type embryos have this many "lost" germ cells).
When clones are made expressing ptcΔloop2.Scer\UAS (under the control of Scer\GAL4αTub84B.PC) in adult abdominal segments all clone cells that have anterior provenance, form pigmented (segmental region anterior 3 (a3)) cuticle. The polarity is largely reversed, even at the back of the clone and in some places behind it.
Expression of ptcΔloop2.Scer\UAS under the control of Scer\GAL41407 results in a decrease in the size of the brain in embryos. The frontal commissure is present.
Somatic clones of ptcΔloop2.Scer\UAS.cBa cells in the wings of Scer\GAL4Bx-MS1096 animals only cause a visible phenotype when they are located in the posterior portion of the anterior (A) compartment, next to the anterior/posterior (P) boundary. Such clones are associated with the formation of mirror-symmetric anterior winglets in place of the normal A compartment and with a dramatic reduction in the P compartment. The anterior border of such clones coincides with the plane of symmetry of the anterior winglet. In larvae, clones of cells expressing ptcΔloop2.Scer\UAS.cBa under the control of Scer\GAL4αTub84B.PP in the posterior of the anterior compartment of wing discs have a smooth, straight anterior border.
