Overexpression of hiwΔRING.Scer\UAS.T:Zzzz\TAP through the strong neuronal driver Scer\GAL4elav.Switch.PO results in a more than twofold increase in both the number of boutons and the number of branchpoints, a 50% increase in synaptic span and a 50% reduction in bouton size.
Expression of hiwΔRING.Scer\UAS.T:Zzzz\TAP under the control of Scer\GAL4elav.Switch.PO in a hiwND8 heterozygous background leads to an additional 56% increase in the number of boutons and an additional 42% increase in the number of branch points, compared with the expression of hiwΔRING.Scer\UAS in a wild-type background.
