Neither the arrest of oogenesis nor the persistent undispersed chromosome condensation phenotype in the nurse cells observed in egg chambers from mip12067,mEFTu1+tBa/Df(2R)BSC274 mutant females (carrying mip12067 recombined with mEFTu1+tBa to rescue the mEFTu1 gene also deleted in mip12067) is rescued by Scer\GAL4nos.UTR.T:Hsim\VP16-driven expression of rhiScer\UAS.T:Avic\GFP.
Approximately 21% of embryos derived from females that carry homozygous lin-5293 mutant germline clones and are heterozygous for mip12067 (Df(2R)mip12067 mutants in which EfTuM[+] function has been restored using EfTuM+tBa) crossed to wild type males are able to hatch, a partial suppression of the phenotype seen when females are maternally mutant for lin-5293 alone.
The female sterility, oogenesis arrest as well as the nurse cell nuclear phenotype (persistent undispersed and condensed chromosomes) characteristic for mip12067,mEFTu1+tBa/Df(2R)BSC274 mutant females (carrying mip12067 recombined with mEFTu1+tBa to rescue the mEFTu1 gene also deleted in mip12067) is rescued by combination with mip120FL.T:Disc\RFP-mCherry but not by combination with any of the following: mip120Nterm.T:Disc\RFP-mCherry, mip120Cterm.T:Disc\RFP-mCherry, mip120CXC.T:Disc\RFP-mCherry or mip120HCH.T:Disc\RFP-mCherry.
