Statement Reference D.santomea males carrying one copy of t+t10.3 have a small patch of male-specific pigmentation along the posterior edge and midline of the A6 segment and also a light narrow stripe in the A2-A5 segments (wild-type D.santomea males lack all abdominal pigmentation). D.santomea males carrying two copies of of t+t10.3 have more robust pigmentation; the A6 segment is pigmented more laterally and the pigmented stripes are wider in segments A2-A5.
Compared to wild-type D.santomea females, which have light stripes of pigment in segments A2-A5 and no pigmentation in A6, D.santomea females carrying two copies of t+t10.3 show robust pigmentation in a striped pattern in segments A2-A6. | |||
