Overexpression of Frq1Scer\UAS.cRPa under the control of Scer\GAL4D42 depresses short-term synaptic plasticity in a high Ca[2+] concentration, compared to controls. Expression of Frq1Scer\UAS.cRPa does not change the number of active zones per synapse in 1b boutons nor the number of docked vesicles. These mutants do not show any significant difference in resting Ca[2+] level compared to controls.
Overexpression of Frq1Scer\UAS.cRPa under the control of Scer\GAL4elav-C155 significantly reduces the number of 1s synaptic boutons.
Expression of Frq1Scer\UAS.cRPa under the control of Scer\GAL4D42 results in a reduction in the total area of the larval neuromuscular junction compared to wild type. The number of type 1s boutons is reduced, while the number of type 1b boutons is not significantly affected.
The amplitude of the evoked excitatory junctional potential (EJP) at the neuromuscular junction is increased compared to wild type in larvae expressing Frq1Scer\UAS.cRPa under the control of Scer\GAL4D42. The amplitude and frequency of spontaneous mEJPs is not affected in these flies. Quantal content of type 1b and type 1s boutons is increased in these flies compared to wild type.
Frq1UAS.cRPa, Scer\GAL4elav-C155 has abnormal neurophysiology phenotype, non-enhanceable by Df(3L)7C/fwd3, Scer\GAL4elav-C155
Frq1UAS.cRPa, Scer\GAL4elav-C155 has abnormal neurophysiology phenotype, non-suppressible by Df(3L)7C/fwd3, Scer\GAL4elav-C155
The presence of a fwd3/Df(3L)7C background does not affect the enhanced quantal release found upon overexpression of Frq1Scer\UAS.cRPa under the control of Scer\GAL4elav-C155.
The presence of a fwd3/Df(3L)7C background does not affect the reduced number of synaptic boutons observed upon overexpression of Frq1Scer\UAS.cRPa under the control of Scer\GAL4elav-C155.
