The expression of MadSDVD.UAS under the control of Scer\GAL4Mef2.PR does not have an obvious effect on the amplitude of excitatory junctional currents (eEJCs) at the larval neuromuscular junction, as compared to controls.
The expression of SmoxSDVD.Scer\UAS under the control of Scer\GAL4nub.PU leads to the adult wing showing a significant increase in size, associated with a severe increase in cell number and with a significant decrease in cell size, as compared to controls; Expression of SmoxSDVD.Scer\UAS also leads to significant increases of the adult leg size (Scer\GAL4Dll-md23-driven expression) and of the salivary gland nucleus size (Scer\GAL4AB1-driven expression), as compared to controls.
Expression of two copies of SmoxSDVD.Scer\UAS, under the control of Scer\GAL4A9, increases average wing growth to 135%, without causing major pattern defects.

The severely increased wing size induced by the expression of SmoxSDVD.Scer\UAS under the control of Scer\GAL4nub.PU (together with Dicer-2, for efficient RNAi) is fully suppressed by the co-expression of CycEJF02473 and is partially suppressed by the co-expression of either stgNIG.1395R or ykiGD11187. The double co-expression of InRK1409A.Scer\UAS and SmoxSDVD.Scer\UAS under the control of Scer\GAL4nub.PU suppresses the wing size and wing cell number defects induced by the single expression conditions. The co-expression of InRK1409A.Scer\UAS does not affect the decreased wing cell size induced by the expression of SmoxSDVD.Scer\UAS under the control of Scer\GAL4nub.PU. Expression of SmoxSDVD.Scer\UAS under the control of Scer\GAL4Tab2-201Y partially rescues the γ neuron pruning defects seen in plumΔ1 mushroom body neuroblast clones.
Co-expression of two copies of MadSDVD.Scer\UAS and SmoxSDVD.Scer\UAS, all under the control of Scer\GAL4A9, result in a synergistic effect, in the transformation of intervein into vein tissue is observed.
