The P3-P4 early pupal lethality seen in P{lacW}moi[S096713]/Df(3R)d189 animals is completely rescued by P{CaSpeR-DTL} (which carries moi[+t4.6] and tatl[+t4.6]). The P3-P4 early pupal lethality seen in P{lacW}moi[S096713]/Df(3R)d189 animals is not rescued by P{CaSpeR-DTLd[m]} (which carries tatl[dm.t4.6] and moi[dm.t4.6]). The P3-P4 early pupal lethality seen in P{lacW}moi[S096713]/Df(3R)d189 animals is partially rescued by P{CaSpeR-DTLu[m]} (which carries tatl[um.t4.6] and moi[um.t4.6]); animals die as pharate adults or immediately after hatching. The P3-P4 early pupal lethality seen in P{lacW}moi[S096713]/Df(3R)d189 animals is completely rescued by P{CaSpeR-DTLd[m]} and P{CaSpeR-DTLu[m]} together in trans.

Discoverer
The P{lacW}moi[S096713] insertion maps upstream of a dicistronic locus that encodes moi (upstream ORF) and tatl (downstream ORF). Rescue analysis indicates that the telomere fusion phenotype seen in P{lacW}moi[S096713] mutants is due to an effect on the moi ORF and not on tatl. In contrast, the lethality caused by the insertion is not rescued by a transgene containing either ORF alone, but is rescued by a transgene containing functional copies of both ORFs, indicating that the lethality is due to an effect on both ORFs.
