Adults expressing AcCoASHMS02314 under the control of Scer\GAL4Tk.PS show increased lethality to infection with V. cholerae.

Females expressing TkJF01818 under the control of Scer\GAL4Tk.PS fail to show the expected mating-induced increase in germline stem cells in the germarium, as compared to controls.

Expression of TkJF01818 under the control of Scer\GAL4elav-C155 in adults results in a significant increase in the strength of circadian locomotor rhythms, compared to controls.

24 hours after UV-induced nociceptive sensitization, early third instar larvae with expression of TkJF01818 driven by Scer\GAL4elav-C155 (but not Scer\GAL4ppk.1.9) show significant reduction of thermal allodynia (withdrawal responses to a sub-threshold 38[o]C probe) compared to controls.

Knockdown of Tk through expression of TkJF01818 under the control of Scer\GAL4Tkg.PS leads to an increase in intestinal lipid production, haemolymph triglyceride levels, and triglyceride storage.

Neuronal expression of TkJF01818, under the control of Scer\GAL4elav.PLu results in increased locomotor activity and reduces olfactory responses to certain chemicals. In addition body weight is affected in these flies.

Tk knockdown in the gut, through expression of TkJF01818 under the control of Scer\GAL4Tkg.PS does not affect locomotor activity or the olfactory response. Body weight is not affected in these flies.

Knockdown of Tk, through expression of TkJF01818 under the control of Scer\GAL4Tkg.PS dramatically decreases CREB transcriptional activity in enterocytes compared to controls. Activation of PKA, through feeding the flies forskolin, a PKA agonist, restores CREB transcriptional activity.
