What does this section display?
This section contains items that were added to this record for each release.
It currently only tracks new links between this FlyBase report and other
FlyBase data classes (e.g. genes, references, stocks) or controlled
vocabulary terms (e.g. GO, anatomy terms).
What does this section not display?
This section does not currently display links that were removed or gene model changes.

Detailed Description
| |||
Statement Reference Adult escapers have extensive wing planar cell polarity (PCP) defects, both proximally and in a distal region between the third and fourth wing veins.
app[e6]/Df(3L)ED4475 animals have planar cell polarity defects in the wing and also in the abdomen where polarity is disturbed around the anterior-posterior boundary and is extensively reversed in the posterior compartment.
Small to moderately size homozygous clones in the wing do not affect PCP, while large clones only affect PCP in the regions of the wing where PCP defects are seen in homozygous flies. There is no tendency to reorient hairs at clone boundaries.

Genetic Interactions
| |||
Statement Reference The disc overgrowth phenotypes of ft[8]/ft[G-rv] pupae are suppressed by app[e6] and the abdominal planar cell polarity (PCP) and lethality phenotypes are reduced in the double mutants compared to the ft[8]/ft[G-rv] single mutant. The double mutant adults have PCP defects in proximal portions of the wing, but not in the distal wing.
The PCP defects that are seen between distal veins L4 and L5 in app[e6] mutants are rescued on the dorsal surface by expression of d[Scer\UAS.T:SV5\V5,T:Zzzz\His6] under the control of Scer\GAL4[ap-md544].
