Very few homozygous clones are recovered in adult eyes.

Homozygous and APP-BP1Ex62/Df(3L)lxd6 third instar larvae have unusually small imaginal discs. Homozygous eye discs show high levels of apoptosis.

Homozygous clones in the wing disc are substantially smaller than their wild-type twin spots and show increased levels of apoptosis compared to control clones.

Homozygous clones in the eye disc show increased levels of apoptosis compared to control clones.

The loss of anterior scutellar macrochaetae that is seen in Appld flies is partially suppressed by APP-BP1Ex62/+. The loss of posterior scutellar macrochaetae that is seen in Appld flies is not suppressed by APP-BP1Ex62/+.

Expression of one copy of ApplScer\UAS.cTa under the control of Scer\GAL4ap-md544 in a APP-BP1Ex62/+ background results in loss of thoracic microchaetae and a reduction in scutellum size. This phenotype is more severe at 29[o]C than at 25[o]C.
