SherpaG5486 mutant flies are viable and fertile and have no external morphological defects.

SherpaG5486 mutant flies how increased susceptibility to infection with some gram positive bacteria (S. saprophyticus and E.faecalis) compared with controls. Response to infection to gram-negative bacteria (Erwinia carotovora carotovora 15 (Ecc15)) is normal.
