Detailed Description
| |||
Statement Reference RecQ4[G7470] flies are homozygous viable, albeit with a low viability. While male fertlity is unaffected, females are sterile, due to a defect in oogenesis.
RecQ4[G7470] mutant females lay eggs with fragile eggshells and hatch embryos with spiracle defects. No apparent defect is observed in follicle cells during mitotic cycles and endocycles before stage 10B. BrdU incorporation in chorion gene clusters on both the X and third chromosome is greatly reduced in follicle cells of hypomorphic mutants, with incorporation decreased about 5-fold compared to controls. | |||
