Statement
Reference
Scer\UAS regulatory sequences drive expression of an N-terminally truncated version of Ctr1A, which starts at residue M22.
Expression of Ctr1A cDNA (amplified from S2 cell cDNA with primers: F1 5' gaGGTACCatgcaccacgatcacagcg 3' and R1 5'gcTCTAGAgtgacagtgctcggttacg 3'), fused in frame at the c-terminus to the epitope flag T:Zzzz\FLAG, is under the control of Scer\UAS sequences.

Co-expression of Ctr1A[Scer\UAS.T:Zzzz\FLAG] rescues the cuticle hypopigmentation phenotype caused by expression of ATP7[Scer\UAS.T:Zzzz\FLAG] under the control of Scer\GAL4[pnr-MD237]. Co-expression of Ctr1A[Scer\UAS.T:Zzzz\FLAG] has no effect on the "Minute"-like phenotype caused by expression of Scox[GD898] under the control of Scer\GAL4[pnr-MD237]. Co-expression of Ctr1A[Scer\UAS.T:Zzzz\FLAG] enhances the rough eye phenotype caused by expression of Ctr1B[Scer\UAS.T:Zzzz\FLAG] under the control of Scer\GAL4[GMR.PFa]. Co-expression of Ctr1A[Scer\UAS.T:Zzzz\FLAG] and ATP7[GD3322] under the control of Scer\GAL4[GMR.PFa] results in male lethality, while females have a severe rough eye phenotype.

Comments
Co-expression of Ctr1A[Scer\UAS.T:Zzzz\FLAG] rescues the cuticle hypopigmentation phenotype caused by expression of a weak Ctr1A[GD16726] line under the control of Scer\GAL4[pnr-MD237]. Co-expression of Ctr1A[Scer\UAS.T:Zzzz\FLAG] does not rescue the eye phenotype caused by expression of Ctr1A[GD16726] under the control of Scer\GAL4[GMR.PFa].
