Comment:

Mutation created by targeted homologous recombination. The coding sequence of YFP was inserted after the ATG of Dpy-30L2 and was accompanied by deletion of 40aa from the coding region of Dpy-30L2.

      Dpy-30L26-1 males have an apparently normal testis that contains sperm. The males show an age-dependent decrease in both amount and motility of sperm, with complete loss of motility in 20-day old mutant males.

      The sperm are confined to the uterus in females that have mated to Dpy-30L26-1 males, indicating that they have failed to be transmitted to the seminal receptacle and the spermathecae.
