UASt regulatory sequences drive expression of a 500bp inverted repeat.
Expression of Smyd4NIG.14122R under the control of Scer\GAL4how-24B can result in lethality (depending on the P{NIG.14122R} insertion line used). Many of the animals die just prior to, or during eclosion, with less than 20% of the flies being able to eclose. Many flies initiate the eclosion process, but become trapped and die partially emerged from the pupal case. Those flies that escape far enough from the pupal case show normal wing expansion.
