Expression of Sin3AKK100700 (co-expressed with Dcr-2Scer\UAS.cDa) under the control of Scer\GAL4ptc-559.1 results in mild but consistent cell migration from the ptc domain of the wing disc compared to controls. Knockdown using a stronger line (created by mobilising the transgene) leads to more aggressive cell invasion as many cells travel a significant distance before eventually undergoing apoptosis. Cells lose their elongate morphology and shift basally at the "tumor" boundary. Cells have reduced adherens junctions, altered polarity, and extrude basally away from the ptc boundary.

Expression of Sin3AKK100700 under the control of Scer\GAL4GMR.PF results in a rough eye phenotype, often with growths emerging from the eye.

Expression of Sin3AKK100700 under the control of Scer\GAL4Hml.Δ has no effect on hemocyte proliferation in third instar larvae.

Expression of Sin3AKK100700 enhances the wing disc phenotypes seen when RetMEN2B.Scer\UAS is expressed under the control of Scer\GAL4ptc-559.1. Large numbers of cells are shifted basally below the epithelium and migrate significant distances from the ptc domain.

Expression of thScer\UAS.cHa enhances the eye phenotype seen when Sin3AKK100700 is expressed under the control of Scer\GAL4GMR.PF; approximately a third of all adults examined show enhanced overgrowth and secondary tumors that grow stably at distant sites.
