The accumulation of lipid droplets in glial cells in the vicinity of adult photoreceptor neurons expressing ND-42ninaE.GD6220 is not suppressed by Scer\GAL454C-driven (glial) expression of outKK104187 while expression under the control of the neuronal Scer\GAL4elav.PLu driver efficiently rescues the phenotype.

Expression of outKK104187 in the ey>flip whole-eye clones mutant for either sicilyE or MarfB suppresses the lipid droplet accumulation in retinal glial cells in adult flies and also improves the photoreceptor degeneration phenotype.

The accumulation of lipid droplets in the retinal glia of adult flies expressing either SREBPUAS.cKa or bskScer\UAS.cBa under the control of Scer\GAL4nSyb.PS is significantly suppressed by co-expression of outKK104187.
