Expression of bskKK108156 RNAi under the control Scer\GAL4Hml.Δ driver significantly improves the lowered survival of adult flies on lard-supplemented diet compared to controls but does not affect plasmatocyte count in adult flies.
Expression of bskKK108156 in the posterior compartment of the imaginal wing disc, under the control of Scer\GAL4en.PU or Scer\GAL4hh.PU does not affect levels of cell death.

The extensive cell death in the pouch region of wing discs in third instar larvae as well as the small and deformed wings in adults expressing His1:CG31617NIG.31617R under the control of Scer\GAL4nub.PU are significantly suppressed by co-expression of bskKK108156.
Expression of bskKK108156 does not suppress the increase in wing size seen in flies expressing RokCAT.Scer\UAS under the control of Scer\GAL4nub-AC-62.
There is a significant reduction in chromosome instability tolerance induced by mad2GD16427 expression, when bskKK108156 is expressed in imaginal wing discs under the control of Scer\GAL4en.PU or Scer\GAL4hh.PU. This leads to an increase in cell death. Consistent with high levels of cell death and consequent loss of tissue, adult wings show notching when JNK signalling is reduced in a chromosome instability background (through expression of mad2GD16427). A BubR1 deficient background (that leads to significant chromosomal instability), created through expression of BubR1VDRC.cUa under the control of either Scer\GAL4en.PU or Scer\GAL4hh.PU, leads to a significant increase in cell death in bskKK108156 knockdown flies. Overexpression of dapScer\UAS.cLa in the imaginal discs greatly reduces the amount of apoptosis seen in bskKK108156 and BubR1VDRC.cUa knockdown cells (with all transgenes under the control of Scer\GAL4en.PU or Scer\GAL4hh.PU). Knockdown of Dark through expression of DarkVDRC.cUa under the control of Scer\GAL4en.PU or Scer\GAL4hh.PU results in significantly reduced levels of cell death in imaginal discs expressing bskKK108156 and mad2GD16427. Knockdown of hid through expression of hidVDRC.cUa under the control of Scer\GAL4en.PU or Scer\GAL4hh.PU results in significantly reduced levels of cell death in imaginal discs expressing bskKK108156 and mad2GD16427. Knockdown of Debcl through expression of DebclVDRC.cUa under the control of Scer\GAL4en.PU or Scer\GAL4hh.PU results in significantly reduced levels of cell death in imaginal discs expressing bskKK108156 and mad2GD16427. Cell death induced by bsk knockdown in cells exhibiting chromosomal instability (through expression of mad2GD16427) is reduced by lengthening G[[2]] through a CycB2 heterozygous background. Cell death induced by bsk knockdown in cells exhibiting chromosomal instability (through expression of mad2GD16427) is reduced by lengthening G[[2]] by Myt1Scer\UAS.cPa overexpression.
