Expressing Tak1KK108611 under the control of Scer\GAL4C587 (together with Dicer-2, for a more efficient RNAi) does not induce any major L3 spermatogenesis defects.

Expression of Tak1KK108611 driven in the fat body of male flies by Scer\GAL4r4 significantly decreases survival of flies in response to Gram-negative bacteria (Erwinia carotovora carotovora 15 or Escherichia coli), compared to controls. Bacterial load (measured as colony forming units 24hr post infection) of Erwinia carotovora carotovora 15 significantly increases in adult flies, compared to controls.

Expression of Tak1KK108611 RNAi under the control Scer\GAL4Hml.Δ driver does not rescue the lowered survival of adult flies on lard-supplemented diet compared to controls.

RNAi knockdown of Tak1, through expression of Tak1KK108611 in the posterior compartment of the wing disc, under the control of either Scer\GAL4en.PU or Scer\GAL4hh.PU, does not affect levels of cell death.

The small wing size induced by Scer\GAL4C5-controlled expression of Dad1GD1006 is not suppressed by the co-expression of Tak1KK108611.

There is a significant reduction in chromosome instability tolerance induced by mad2GD16427 expression, when Tak1KK108611 is expressed in imaginal wing discs under the control of Scer\GAL4en.PU or Scer\GAL4hh.PU. This is concomitant with an increase in the level of cell death. Consistent with high levels of cell death and consequent loss of tissue, adult wings show notching when JNK signalling is reduced in a chromosome instability background (through expression of mad2GD16427).
