Expression of tkv^{dsRNA.IR2.Scer\UAS} under the control of Scer\GAL4^sd-SG29.1 results in mild expansion of wing vein material.

In pupal retinas tkv^IR1.Scer\UAS; tkv^IR2.Scer\UAS; Scer\GAL4^GMR.PF at around 25 hours APF inter-ommatidial precursor cells fail to maintain stable, adherens junction mediated contacts with each, allowing abberant contacts to form between primary pigment cells in adjacent ommatidia. The affected inter-ommatidial precursor cells often fail to maintain a normal apical profile. In tkv^IR2.Scer\UAS; Scer\GAL4^sd-SG29.1 adults, have thickened wing veins - with distal regions of L2 and L5 most severely affected..

Expression of pyd^{3.dsRNA.Scer\UAS} strongly enhances the wing vein defects seen when tkv^{dsRNA.IR2.Scer\UAS} is expressed under the control of Scer\GAL4^sd-SG29.1. One copy of pyd^tex2 strongly enhances the wing vein defects seen when tkv^{dsRNA.IR2.Scer\UAS} is expressed under the control of Scer\GAL4^sd-SG29.1.
