Detailed Description

Combined expression of RNAi transgenes enokGD4037 and enokHM05195 under the control of Scer\GAL4bab1-Gal4 results in a significant decrease of female germline stem cell (GSC) numbers per germarium during a two week period after eclosion. Expression of the RNAi lines only at adulthood in temperature shift experiments using Scer\GAL80ts.αTub84B causes a similar gradual GSC loss.

Expression of Scer\GAL4bab1-Gal4>enokHM05195 results in a progressive decline in germarium cap cell numbers compared with wild-type.

Co-expression of dppScer\UAS.cNa with enokGD4037 and enokHM05195 under the control of Scer\GAL4bab1-Gal4 and Scer\GAL80ts.αTub84B is unable to attenuate the decline in germline stem cell numbers.

Co-expression of dallyScer\UAS.cJa with enokGD4037 and enokHM05195 under the control of Scer\GAL4bab1-Gal4 and Scer\GAL80ts.αTub84B is unable to attenuate the decline in germline stem cell numbers.
