      Expression of VGlutJF02689 (co-expressed with Dcr-2Scer\UAS.cDa) in either dm8 neurons (under the control of Scer\GAL4ort.C2b) or Tm5c neurons (under the control of Scer\GAL4C1a.DBD.ort.T:Zzzz\ZipRREEL and Hsim\VP16AD.VGlut.OK371.T:Zzzz\ZipEERRL,T:SV40\nls2) significantly reduces the phototactic preference for ultraviolet light over green light seen in wild type and control flies.

      Females expressing VGlutJF02689 under the control of Scer\GAL4Ilp7.PC (co-expressed with Dcr-2Scer\UAS.cDa) show a severe reduction in egg laying, and an "egg-jam" phenotype in the lateral oviduct. Expressing VGlutJF02689 in octopaminergic neurons under the control of Scer\GAL4Tdc2.PC has no effect on egg laying.
