Adulthood-only expression of SH3PX1JF02730 under the control of Scer\GAL4Su(H).GBE.cUa or Scer\GAL4esg.PU alone, or Scer\GAL4esg.PU and Scer\GAL80Su(H).GBE combined leads to a severe increase in the number of mitotic cells (phospho-H3 staining) in the adult midgut, as compared to controls; this outcome is not obtained when expression is driven by Scer\GAL4NP0001 or Scer\GAL4pros-V1. (The temporal regulation of expression is dependent on Gal80[ts] and induced by temperature shift to 29[o]C for 7 days during adulthood)

Larval fat body cells expressing SH3PX1JF02730 under the control of Scer\GAL4Act.PU show reduced production of autophagosomes compared to wild-type cells under starvation conditions.

Larval fat body cells expressing SH3PX1JF02730 under the control of Scer\GAL4Act.PU also show decreased formation of autophagic compartments in well fed 110 hour old larvae (normally undergoing developmental autophagy).
