Developmental apoptosis is greatly reduced in embryos that are maternally and zygotically mutant for IceΔ2C8.

Developmental apoptosis is greatly reduced in homozygous third instar eye discs.

γ-ray induced apoptosis (which is is seen in wild-type third larval instar wing discs after irradiation with 40Gy of γ-rays) is completely suppressed in IceΔ2C8 homozygotes. Recovery from G[[2]] arrest after irradiation occurs much earlier in the homozygotes compared to controls.

Developmental apoptosis in the eye disc is completely absent in Dcp-1Prev1 ; IceΔ2C8 double homozygous third instar larvae.

The reduction in adult eye size caused by expression of WGMR.PG is suppressed in a IceΔ2C8/IceΔ2C8 background.

The apoptosis posterior to the morphogenetic furrow that is induced by WGMR.PG in third larval instar eye discs is almost completely suppressed in a IceΔ2C8/IceΔ2C8 background.
