Expression of Spn77Ba[Scer\UAS.P\T.T:Ivir\HA1] under the control of Scer\GAL4[hs.PB] at 18[o]C allows some Spn77Ba[W7] animals to grow to the second instar stage. These animals have melanised trachea and in most cases die before reaching the third instar stage. Expression of Spn77Ba[Scer\UAS.P\T.T:Ivir\HA1] under the control of Scer\GAL4[hs.PB] at 22-25[o]C allows some Spn77Ba[W7] animals to survive to the third larval instar or pupal stages. These larvae and pupae have melanised trachea.
