Expression of NuakJF02162 under the control of Scer\GAL4Mef2.PR leads to thinner or detached body wall muscles with regions devoid of F-actin labeled myofibrillar material, and reduced locomotion in third instar larvae. It also leads to an increase in sarcomere number in larval ventral longitudinal muscle 3. The severity of these muscle phenotypes are increased upon starvation.
