    ScerGAL4NP2492 labels the mushroom body ventral lobe arborizing neuron 2. It is also expressed in other areas of the brain, including the lateral horn, fan-shaped body, protocerebrum, optic tubercle, adult olfactory receptor neurons that innervate two glomeruli in the antennal lobe and the subesophageal ganglion.

    Inhibition (using shi1.UAS at 32[o]C) of Scer\GAL4NP2492 cells in adults during testing does not affect the increase in aversive olfactory 24 h memory observed when the recall environment better matches the training environment (presence of copper grid), compared to controls.

    Inhibition (using shi1.UAS at 32[o]C) of Scer\GAL4NP2492 cells in adults does not affect startle-induced climbing behavior, compared to controls.

    Thermogenetic activation (using TrpA1UAS.(B).cKa at 32[o]C) of Scer\GAL4NP2492 cells in adults significantly reduces startle-induced climbing behavior, compared to controls.

    Inhibition (using shi1.UAS at 33[o]C) of Scer\GAL4NP2492 cells in adults during testing significantly reduces long term (24 h after massed training) aversive olfactory memory, compared to controls.
