Detailed Description

Expression of Stat92EJF01265 under the control of Scer\GAL4Stat92E-0092-G4 (in combination with tub-Gal80[ts] to restrict expression to the adult stage) leads to an increase in the presynaptic bouton number and disruptions in the actin cytoskeleton of the STAT-expressing pars intercerebralis neurons in the adult brain.

The adulthood-only expression of Stat92EJF01265 under the control of Scer\GAL4esg-NP5130 (and Gal80[ts], for the temporal control of expression) leads to a severe increase in mitotic index and to a significant increase in the number of intestinal stem cells/enteroblasts in the adult midgut epithelium, as compared to controls.

Expression of Stat92EJF01265 under the control of Scer\GAL4en-e16E results in ectopic wing veins. The phenotype is more severe in males than females.

The co-expression of Stat92EJF01265 suppresses both the increased numbers of intestinal stem cells/enteroblast and the increased mitotic index induced in the adult midgut epithelium by the adulthood-only expression of UvragHMS01357 under the control of Scer\GAL4esg-NP5130 (and Gal80[ts]).
