UAS regulatory sequences drive expression of a short inverted repeat.
Expression of Sirt1HMS00484 under the control of Scer\GAL4elav-C155 results in significantly decreased sedation sensitivity to acute ethanol exposure in naive flies, and a significant decrease in sedation tolerance when repeatedly exposed to ethanol, as compared to controls.
Driving expression of Sirt1HMS00484 in the fat body (using Scer\GAL4r4) but not elsewhere (Scer\GAL4Mef2.PR, Scer\GAL4mex1.2.1, Scer\GAL4Ilp2.215-1, Scer\GAL4Akh.PL) disrupts insulin signaling and leads to hyperglycemia compared to controls (at 2 weeks old).
Expression of Sirt1HMS00484 results in: slightly rough eye phenotype (with Scer\GAL4GMR.PF), occasional ectopic vein material in the anterior wing or at the posterior crossvein (with Scer\GAL4nub.PK) or in the posterior wing compartment (with Scer\GAL4en.PU). Scer\GAL4Act5C.PI-driven expression is viable; no overt adult phenotype is observed with the Scer\GAL4ey.PH driver.
